Effingham, IL – Julie Zeigler Injured in Collision at Henrietta St & Fayette Ave

Effingham, IL (September 5, 2020) – A driver involved in a two-vehicle collision in Effingham sustained injuries on Wednesday morning, September 2. The crash occurred near the intersection of S. Henrietta Street and W. Fayette Avenue at around 8 a.m. 

First responders and law enforcement officials were dispatched to the scene of the accident to render aid to the injured parties. According to reports from the Effingham Police Department, 42-year-old Julie Zeigler of Watson, Illinois was driving through the intersection when she entered the path of another vehicle. 

Zeigler was struck by a car driven by 27-year-old Mark Schmidt of Effingham. Zeigler was transported to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham for the treatment of sustained injuries. The cause of the accident has not been reported at this time. 

No citations have been filed at this time. An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
