Collinsville, IL – Man Killed in Hit-&-Run Accident on I-64

Collinsville, IL (September 15, 2020) – A man was reportedly killed in a deadly hit-and-run accident on Interstate 64 in St. Clair County on Friday, September 11.

Officials from the Illinois State Police were called to the site of the crash at around 8:47 a.m. that morning. The body of a male was reportedly lying in the median of the highway near milepost 5. Authorities reported that they believed a vehicle struck the victim and then fled the scene. 

The victim, a 31-year-old man from St. Louis, Missouri, was pronounced dead by the St. Clair Coroner’s Office. The identity of the deceased party has not been released at this time and is currently pending notification from next of kin. No further updates on the collision are currently available at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the collision is currently underway.
