Chicago, IL – Two Men Killed in Fiery Car Crash at Lake Shore Dr & Oak St

Chicago, IL (September 8, 2020) – A fiery car accident in Chicago left two men dead on Sunday, September 6, near the intersection of N. Lake Shore Drive and E. Oak Street. 

The fatal crash reportedly took place early that morning at around 3 a.m. A vehicle reportedly started to spark after scraping against a concrete barrier while traveling on N. Lake Shore Drive before rolling over the barrier and catching fire. Both the men traveling inside the vehicle were able to escape. 

Both victims were transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for the treatment of life-threatening injuries. The severity of the burns required that the victims be taken to Stroger Hospital where they were later pronounced dead. The cause of the accident is not known at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
