Chicago, IL (September 27, 2020) – Two firefighters suffered injuries after combatting a blaze on Chicago’s Near West Side on Friday evening, September 25.

Local fire departments responded to a fire in the Little Italy area at the 1100 block of West Taylor Street. The call came in at around 8:30 p.m. that night. The fire was reportedly very intense and involved a three-story building.

Ambulances were called to the scene because some firefighters were experiencing serious fatigue. Two firefighters were hospitalized for the treatment of sustained injuries but are expected to recover. The fire was extinguished soon after.

The cause of the blaze has not been reported at this time. An ongoing investigation into the incident is currently underway.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
