Chicago, IL (September 5, 2020) – One person was killed and another seriously injured following a motorcycle accident in Chicago’s South Side on Friday morning, September 4.
Initial reports revealed that the crash occurred on Dan Ryan Expressway near W. 47th Street at around 12:40 a.m. Witnesses at the scene revealed that a dark-colored vehicle struck the motorcycle, causing the operator and passenger to be ejected from the bike. The motorcycle struck a concrete median on Interstate 94
Both the motorcyclist and the passenger were thrown onto the Red Line tracks along W. 47th Street. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency responders arrived. Another injured party was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center with serious injuries.
No further updates on the accident have been reported at this time. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
