Wilmington, IL – Cynthia Utley Killed in Collision on I-55

Wilmington, IL (August 15, 2020) – A Missouri woman was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in the Wilmington area on Thursday afternoon, August 13. The crash occurred on the northbound lanes of Interstate 55 at around 3:35 p.m. 

Initial reports revealed that the deceased victim was traveling on Interstate 55 NB when she collided with two other vehicles. The deceased party was later identified as 62-year-old Cynthia Utley from House Springs, Missouri. Utley reportedly died due to multiple injuries sustained in the accident. 

Emergency responders and law enforcement officials were called to the site of the accident to render aid to the injured party. At this time, no updates on the cause of the crash have been provided. No other injuries have been reported at this time. 

No further details on the collision are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by the Illinois State Police. More information will be released as it continues.
