Rockford, IL (August 16, 2020) – On Friday, August 14, a collision reportedly involving a small plane and a passenger vehicle in Rockford left the driver of the car injured. Reports from the local fire department revealed that the incident took place on Auburn road near the Cottonwood Airport.
At this time, the factors contributing to the collision have not been made public. For unknown reasons, a small plane collided with a passenger car. The driver of the vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Neither the pilot nor the plane’s passenger sustained injuries in the accident. Local reports revealed that the plane was licensed to a pilot in Rockford. At this time, no updates on the conditions of the injured parties have been provided.
The site of the crash on Auburn Road was closed while emergency responders were present. An ongoing investigation into the incident is being handled by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
