Quincy, IL – Nathaniel Gilbert Killed in Motorcycle Crash on 36th St

Quincy, IL (August 27, 2020) – A deadly collision involving a motorcycle and a mini-van in Quincy on Thursday, August 20, resulted in the death of a 19-year-old motorcyclist. Local sources revealed that the accident occurred at around 8:45 p.m. near the intersection of N. 36th Street and Broadway Street. 

According to local authorities, 19-year-old Nathaniel Gilbert of Quincy reportedly left the K-Mart parking lot located at the 3701 block of Broadway Street to travel west on N. 36th Street. Gilbert was traveling by motorcycle when he collided with a minivan traveling south on the roadway. 

Gilbert was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois in critical condition. Reports from the Quincy Police Department revealed that he succumbed to his injuries four days later on Monday, August 24. 

The driver of the minivan was also injured following the accident and taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment. No further updates are currently available. 

Local law enforcement officials are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
