Pike Co, IL (August 23, 2020) – Two motorcyclists sustained injuries following an accident in Pike County on Friday night, August 21. Local sources revealed that the accident occurred on Interstate 172 east of the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge at around 7 p.m.
It was reported that both riders were ejected from their motorcycles in the collision. Local authorities revealed that both motorcycles were traveling on Interstate 172 when the one ahead slowed down for unknown reasons. The preceding motorcycle rear-ended the bike traveling ahead of it.
One of the injured motorcyclists was transported by ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. The other rider refused treatment at the scene. No updates on the conditions of the injured parties have been provided.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.
