Litchfield, IL - Three Injured in Collision at IL-16 & W Co Line Rd

Certain types of collisions are much more likely to result in severe or life-threatening injuries. Head-on crashes are particularly dangerous and can be deadly, even at low speeds. Head-on crashes are fairly rare, only accounting for around 2% of reported crashes each year. However, they are extremely deadly and still represent around 10% of reported fatal car accidents reported annually across the United States. Head-on collisions are often caused by the actions of reckless or negligent drivers, including distracted driving, excessive speed, and other types of reckless behavior behind the wheel. The Federal Highway Administration claims that head-on crashes have a nearly 58% fatality rate.
