La Grange, IL (August 21, 2020) – A Brookfield man was killed in a head-on collision in the La Grange area on Wednesday, August 19. Local authorities reported that the crash occurred at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and E. Burlington Avenue late that evening.
According to local sources, a white Ford Escape traveling east on Ogden Avenue was struck by a westbound GMC pickup truck. The pickup reportedly crossed the double yellow lines on the roadway for unknown reasons. The driver of the pickup was identified as 59-year-old Dino Chico from Brookfield, Illinois.
Chico was transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois and later pronounced dead. The driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby medical center for treatment. At this time, the cause of the crash is still unknown.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local authorities.
