Forest Park, IL (August 31, 2020) – A man and a woman were killed following a two-vehicle collision in the Forest Park area on Sunday morning, August 30. The collision took place on Interstate 290 near the intersection of Des Plaines Avenue.

According to reports from the Illinois State Police, both vehicles were traveling east on the Eisenhower Expressway at the time of the accident. At around 4:23 a.m., a 19-year-old Maywood man driving a 2013 Hyundai collided with a 2006 Chevrolet driven by a 27-year-old woman from Aurora, Illinois. The driver of the Hyundai was reportedly trying to change lanes at the time of the accident.

The impact caused the Chevrolet to lose control and leave the roadway, colliding with a guardrail and poles located on the right shoulder. The woman driving the Chevrolet and a 32-year-old male passenger suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Another passenger was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The driver of the Hyundai was hospitalized for the treatment of sustained injuries. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
