Deadly Rollover Accidents in Chicago

Forest Park, IL - One Killed in Accident on Eisenhower Expy

Certain types of car accidents are more likely to result in fatal injuries. Rollover collisions are particularly dangerous and have a higher fatality rate than other kinds of car crashes. Of the nearly 9.1 million reported collisions involving passenger cars, pickup trucks, and vans reported in 2010, only around 2.1% involved rollover crashes. However, that same year, rollover collisions were involved in roughly 35% of deadly passenger-vehicle accidents. Of those killed, nearly 69% were unrestrained at the time of the accident, increasing their risk of being ejected from the vehicle and suffering life-threatening injuries.
