Effingham, IL – Stephen Shulman Injured at Banker St & Jaycee Ave

Effingham, IL (August 22, 2020) – There were reported injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Effingham on Sunday, August 16. The collision occurred near the intersection of S. Banker Street and W. Jaycee Avenue that afternoon at around 3:50 p.m. 

Both drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries in the accident. The drivers were identified as 56-year-old Stephen C. Shulman from St. Louis, Missouri and a 16-year-old fro Dietrich, Illinois. Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid to the injured parties. 

The 16-year-old driver refused treatment at the scene. Shulman was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No citations have been filed at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials, and more information will be released as it continues.
