Initial reports revealed that a pickup truck pulling a trailer was waiting on the left shoulder of the highway near milepost 23. The driver of the truck was standing next to the vehicle when he and the vehicle were struck by a tractor-trailer at around 1:35 p.m. The oncoming tractor-trailer sideswiped the pickup truck and the driver, according to local sources.

The tractor-trailer swerved and overcorrected before overturning. Another vehicle behind the tractor-trailer was damaged due to debris, but the driver was not injured.

An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
