Dora, IL – Motorcyclist Killed at Co Rd 2400N & Co Rd 400E

Dora, IL (August 20, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed following a deadly collision in Moultrie County on Wednesday afternoon, August 19. 

According to reports from the Illinois State Police, the crash occurred near the intersection of County Road 2400 North and County Road 400 East in Dora Township at around 12:52 p.m. Local sources revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling west on 2400 North when he was struck by a 2019 Ford. 

Authorities reported that the Ford reportedly ran a stop sign at the intersection. The motorcyclist collided with the driver’s side door of Ford and was ejected from the bike. The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead a the scene. 

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim has not been released. The driver of the Ford was cited for failing to obey a stop sign. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently underway.
