Clark Co, IL (August 12, 2020) – A construction zone accident that took place in Clark County on Wednesday, August 11, resulted in four people sustaining injuries. The accident reportedly took place on Interstate 70 at around 1:30 a.m. that morning.

According to reports from the Illinois State Police, a 2003 Jeep Liberty driven by 27-year-old Patrick Suber from Indianapolis was traveling westbound in a one-land zone on the interstate at the time of the accident. The Jeep reportedly left the roadway and overturned into a nearby embankment.

Suber and three passengers, all from Indianapolis, were transported to nearby medical facilities for the treatment of sustained injuries. The injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. At this time, the cause of the crash is still unknown.

Suber was charged with multiple counts, including driving while suspended, no insurance, and improper lane usage. An ongoing investigation into the crash is being by local law enforcement officials, and more details will be made public as it continues.

Our thoughts are with Patrick Suber and the other injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Rollover Accidents in Illinois

Clark Co, IL - Patrick Suber, Three Others Injured in Rollover Crash on I-70

Certain types of accidents are more likely to result in serious injuries. Rollover fatalities are particularly dangerous due to their increased fatality rate compared to other types of accidents. Of the nearly 9.1 million vehicle collisions involving passenger cars, vans, and pickup trucks reported in 2010, only 2.1% involved rollover accidents. However, around 35% of deadly passenger-vehicle collisions reported that year involved rollover collisions. Of those killed, nearly 69% were unrestrained at the time of the accident. This greatly increases the chance of being ejected from the vehicle and sustaining life-threatening injuries. Rollover crashes can be caused by multiple factors but are primarily the result of dangerous roadway conditions and reckless behavior on part of the driver.
