Chicago, IL – Worker Injured in Building Collapse on Wilton Ave

Chicago, IL (August 30, 2020) – A garage collapse in the Lakeview area of Chicago left one construction worker injured on Friday, August 28. 

Local sources revealed that the accident occurred at the 32000 block of N. Wilton Avenue. The man had to be rescued from the rubble by Chicago firefighters, and the rescue took around 30 minutes. The injured construction worker was reportedly covered in rubble and debris, including heavy bricks. 

The injured party was transported by ambulance to a nearby medical facility in critical condition. The worker was reportedly working on the building next to the garage, but the cause of the collapse is still unknown at this time. The project had reportedly been going on for many months before the accident.

No further updates are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by city officials.
