Chicago, IL (August 2, 2020) – On Monday, July 27, a man was killed after being hit by a semi-truck in Chicago. The accident reportedly took place in the Humboldt Park area on the city’s West Side. The man was reportedly walking between stopped cars near the intersection of W. North Avenue and N. Kimball Avenue.
The deceased victim was spotted at the scene of the crash having a conversation with other people near the intersection. An eastbound semi-truck struck the man with the truck’s rear wheels at around 7:30 p.m. Witnesses at the scene stopped the truck driver after he hit the pedestrian.

The autopsy confirmed that Galdos was killed due to multiple blunt force injuries resulting from the accident.
The 39-year-old man driving the semi was sent to St. Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center for toxicology tests. He was cited for failure to stop for a pedestrian.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently in progress.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of Luis Galdos at this time.
