Chicago, IL – Cyclist Fatally Struck in Collision on Archer Ave

Chicago, IL (August 22, 2020) – A biker was killed after being struck in the Archer Heights area on Chicago’s Southwest Side. The incident reportedly occurred at around 6 p.m. at the 5100 block of S. Archer Avenue. 

The cyclist was hit by an unidentified Ford vehicle. Emergency responders and law enforcement officials were dispatched to the site of the accident to render aid to the injured party. The 75-year-old rider was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel. 

The cause of the accident is not known at this time. No other injuries were reported at the scene. At this time, charges are currently pending against the 56-year-old driver involved in the accident. The identity of the deceased party has not been released by local authorities. 

At this time, no further information on the accident is available. An ongoing investigation into the collision is being managed by the Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents unit.
