Beach Park, IL (August 17, 2020) – Two people suffered injuries, including a police officer, following a multi-vehicle collision in the Beach Park area on Saturday evening, August 15. Initial reports revealed that the collision took place near the intersection of N. Green Bay Road and W. Wadsworth Road at around 9:42 p.m.

Local sources revealed that a sheriff’s deputy was responding to a call regarding a break-in at the time of the accident. The patrol vehicle was traveling westbound on Wadsworth Road when it collided with a Nissan Rogue heading south on Green Bay. The impact caused the Nissan to crash into a nearby Honda Civic traveling east on Wadsworth Road.

Both the officer and the driver of the Nissan were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois for the treatment of serious injuries. Neither the passenger nor the driver of the Honda sustained injuries in the crash. No further updates on the conditions of the crash victims have been provided.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway. More information will be released as it continues.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
