Bartonville, IL – Woman Killed in Collision at Dietrich Ln & Airport Rd

Baronville, IL (August 4, 2020) – A woman was killed and two others injured after a collision in Baronville. The crash reportedly occurred on Monday afternoon, August 3. At this time, the identity of the deceased victim has not been released. 

Local reports revealed that the site of the crash was located at the intersection of S. Dietrich Lane and S. Airport Road. The accident occurred at around 1:17 p.m. The woman was reportedly in her mid-40s, according to reports from the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities were called to the site of a single-vehicle collision at the 5000 block of S. Airport Road where they located the vehicle off the roadway containing the three occupants. 

The woman driving the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Peoria County coroner. Two other occupants of the vehicle were transported to St. Francis for the treatment of serious injuries. Sources reported that the vehicle was traveling southbound on S. Airport Road when it crossed the center line and left the roadway. The vehicle reportedly collided with multiple mailboxes and trees. Two ambulances arrived at the scene soon after the accident. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently underway. No further updates have been provided at this time.
