Summit, IL (July 12, 2020) – A two-vehicle crash in Effingham County left one driver injured on Friday, July 10. The accident took place at around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Cardinal Lane and E. 1600th Avenue (Moccasin Road). A vehicle was reportedly stopped at the intersection when it was struck from behind by another vehicle.
According to local sources, Carrie Lewis, 57, of Luka, Illinois was on Moccasin Road waiting to turn when they were rear-ended by Daphne McCormack, 35, of Effingham. Lewis was transported to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. At this time, no citations have been filed.
An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
