Rockford, IL – Shooting & Injury Crash at Spring Creek Rd & Parkview Ave

Rockford, IL (July 28, 2020) – A shooting in Rockford resulted in multiple injuries following a collision. The incident reportedly took place late on Sunday evening, July 26. Emergency responders and local law enforcement officials were dispatched to the scene of a shooting a vehicle collision. The accident reportedly took place at the intersection of Spring Creek Road and Parkview Avenue. 

At around 7:35 p.m., a man fired shots at another vehicle. According to reports from the Rockford Police Department, the shooter knew the two women inside the other car. After the shots were fired, the vehicle fled, causing a multi-vehicle accident. Three cars were reportedly involved in the crash. The two women and another non-involved party were hospitalized for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after the collision. 

Authorities were able to locate the gun shell casings at the crash site. At this time, it is unknown if the resulting injuries were gunshot related. No further updates are currently available.

An ongoing investigation into the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials. More details will be reported as it continues.
