Machesney Park, IL – Police Car Involved in Injury Crash at IL-251 & IL-173

Machesney Park, IL (July 5, 2020) – A Winnebago County deputy vehicle was involved in a two-vehicle collision in Machesney Park on Friday, July 3. The accident occurred that afternoon at around 4:50 p.m. The site of the crash was located near the intersection of IL-251 and IL-173.

According to local sources, the deputy vehicle was traveling north on IL-251 with its emergency lights on at the time of the crash. The other vehicle was reportedly traveling westbound on IL-173. The woman driving the other car was hospitalized for the treatment of sustained injuries.

An ongoing investigation into the accident is underway.
