The collision involved a single vehicle and took place on Wednesday afternoon, July 22. Emergency response units and local law enforcement officials were dispatched to the site of the crash on Interstate 290 (Eisenhower Expressway) near Des Plaines Avenue. Deadly Car Accidents in Illinois

Forest Park, IL - Jessica White Killed in Crash at I-290 & Des Plaines Ave

Driving is one of the most dangerous things that most of us do every single day. We all would like to assume we would never be involved in a serious crash, but the reality is that anytime we are on the road we are at risk of being severely injured. According to data from the Illinois Department of Transportation, there were 281,788 car accidents reported across the state in 2011. That is an average of 772 crashes happening each day. There were 834 fatal crashes reported that year, contributing to the deaths of 918 people, an average of two people being killed each day in vehicle collisions.

The grief and devastation of losing a loved one due to another’s negligence are nearly unbearable. Surviving family members often take on damages resulting from the accident, and they may be able to recover lost compensation by pursuing a wrongful death claim with the help of an experienced Illinois car crash attorney. In an Illinois wrongful death claim, a representative of the decedent’s estate — usually a close family member — seeks damages from those at fault for the person’s death to obtain compensation for damages.

At Kent M. Lucaccioni, Ltd., we understand the grief and pain that families experience when a family member is killed. While no amount of money can bring back a lost family member, an Illinois wrongful death lawsuit can help families address the financial difficulties associated with the accident.
