Effingham, IL (July 12, 2020) – Two drivers were injured following a car accident in Effingham on Thursday, July 9. The accident took place at the 111 block of Henrietta Street at around 12:20 p.m. One vehicle reportedly crossed into the path of another vehicle and was struck.
Leona Horath, 66, of Effingham reportedly turned into the path of a vehicle driven by Karen Doty, 54, of Beecher City, Illinois. Both parties reportedly suffered injuries in the crash. Horath was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Doty refused medical treatment at the scene.
Horath was cited for failure to yield and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Local authorities are currently investigating the accident.
