Effingham Co, IL – Two Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash on I-70

Effingham Co, IL (July 14, 2020) – a crash in Effingham county left two people injured on Monday, July 13. The collision involved a single vehicle and occurred on I-70 (I-57) near milepost 157 at around 11:40 a.m. that morning. A Ford pickup truck was reportedly towing a recreational vehicle (RV) when the truck experienced technical issues.

The driver ultimately lost control of the vehicle, leaving the roadway and striking a guardrail before overturning on the right lane of the highway. Both the truck’s driver and passenger, identified as a 49-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman of Kalamazoo, Michigan, were hospitalized for the treatment of non-life-threatening. Emergency vehicles were called to the scene to render aid to the injured parties at the scene.

An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
