Chicago, IL – Two Officers Injured in Collision on 87th St

Chicago, IL (July 8, 2020) – Two police officers were injured after crashing their patrol vehicle in south Chicago. The accident occurred at the 3400 block of E. 87th Street at around 12:14 a.m. The officers were reportedly leaving Steelworkers Park when they crashed into the gate.

The gate was reportedly opened when the officers arrived, and neither knew that it had been closed when they were leaving. Both officers were hospitalized for treatment following the crash. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

An ongoing investigation into the crash is in progress.
