Chicago, IL – Police Car Kills Man on Motor Bike at S Halsted St

Chicago, IL (July 10, 2020) – An unmarked Chicago police vehicle struck and killed a man riding on a motorized bike on Wednesday, July 8. Three officers were reportedly in the vehicle when they struck the victim at the 11800 block of South Halsted Street. The officers were traveling in the West Pullman neighborhood when they struck the 33-year-old man at around 10:30 p.m.

The bike was reportedly making a turn onto Halsted Street from 118th Street when it was struck by the police vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. The three officers were seriously injured and transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center for treatment.

A witness from the scene claimed that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed without its siren on. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
