Chicago, IL – Patricia Wickers Killed in Crash at Cicero & Archer Ave

Chicago, IL (July 21, 2020) – A woman was killed following a vehicle collision on Chicago’s Southwest Side. The deadly car accident took place in the Archer Heights area on Sunday, July 19. According to reports from the Chicago Police Department (CPD), the collision happened at around 4:45 p.m. 

Two vehicles were reportedly involved in the accident. According to local sources, a 41-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Malibu southbound on Cicero Avenue at the time of the accident. The Malibu sideswiped an eastbound Honda near Archer Avenue, according to local officials. 

The woman driving Honda sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. The Cook County medical examiner’s office later identified the deceased victim as 77-year-old Patricia A. Wickers from the Gage Park area of Chicago. 

The driver of the Malibu was taken into custody by authorities following the accident. At this time, no further updates have been provided. 

An ongoing investigation into the collision is being managed by the CPD Motor Accidents Unit.
