Belvidere, IL – Motorcyclist Killed in Collision at IL-76 & Spring Creek Rd

Belvidere, IL (July 11, 2020) – In Belvidere, one person was killed and another injured following a collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. A 2018 Jeep Cherokee and a 2012 Harley Davidson collided at the intersection of IL-76 and Spring Creek Road at around 3 p.m. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) and emergency responders were called to the scene of the crash.

A 21-year-old Rockford man was driving the Jeep north on IL-76 when he struck a 63-year-old Poplar man traveling south on the motorcycle. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. The driver of the Jeep was taken to Javon Bea Mercy hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries.

At this time, the cause of the crash is unknown. The identities of the victims have been withheld.

BCSO is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
