Aurora, IL – Deadly Car Accident at Mitchell Rd & Bitler Rd

Aurora, IL (July 22, 2020) – A multi-vehicle collision resulted in the death of one person in Aurora. Local reports revealed that the accident took place early Monday morning, July 20. Local law enforcement officials and emergency responders were called to the scene of the collision at around 8:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, three vehicles collided at the intersection of Mitchell Road and Bitler Road. 

A 49-year-old woman from North Aurora was killed in the collision, and a 67-year-old man sustained critical injuries. According to reports from the North Aurora Deputy Police Chief, the driver of a third vehicle was uninjured. A release from officials stated that the 67-year-old man was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Illinois before being airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois. 

Initial reports that a woman traveling on Bilter Road made a turn into the path of a pickup truck on Mitchell Road. No charges have been filed at this time. There is no indication that drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision. 

No further updates are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the accident is underway.
