Peru, IL – UPDATE: Driver Responsible for IL-251 Crash Identified

Peru, IL (June 18, 2020) – A man from Ladd, Illinois was identified as the driver responsible for a multi-vehicle crash with injuries in Peru on Monday, June 15th. The man was traveling on IL-251 when he entered oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head-on. The accident reportedly occurred at around 6 p.m. and involved five vehicles.

The driver of the vehicle that ran into oncoming traffic was later identified as Vincent R. Coughlin, 56. Coughlin reported that blinding light caused him to enter into opposing traffic and cause the collision. Multiple parties at the scene sustained injuries in the crash.

Local authorities are currently investigating the accident.
