Mission, IL (June 9, 2020) – One person was airlifted following a three-vehicle collision in Mission Township on Saturday night, June 6th. Authorities were called to the intersection of IL-71 and East 2603rd Road at around 6:08 p.m. David Tejada, 20, of Aurora was reportedly traveling west on the highway when he struck another vehicle waiting to turn.
Tejada’s vehicle then went airborne and struck another car. The driver of the third vehicle was taken to OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa, Illinois.
Tejada was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, following too closely, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Local authorities are currently investigating the crash.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
