Hamel, IL (June 23, 2020) – A pregnant woman was airlifted following a two-vehicle crash in Hamel on Monday afternoon, June 22nd. The collision took place at the intersection of IL-140 and Staunton Road at around 12:30 p.m. Two women and two children were reportedly traveling west on IL-140 in a Hyundai Entourage when an Isuzu flatbread truck crossed their path.
An Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter landed to transport the pregnant woman to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for treatment. The two children were also hospitalized and taken to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. The driver of the minivan was also injured.
The truck involved was reportedly owned by S.M. Lawn and Landscaping Inc. in Edwardsville, Illinois. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
