Urbana, IL – Jeep Runs Red Light at Guardian Dr & University Ave

Urbana, IL (May 2, 2020) – A two-vehicle crash in Urbana, Illinois on Thursday night, April 30th, left one person injured. Authorities responded to the intersection of Guardian Drive and University Avenue at around 6 p.m. Officers reported that a black Jeep traveling east on University Avenue ran a red light, colliding with a red Ford Fusion. 

The Ford was reportedly making a left turn onto University Avenue from Guardian Drive. The Jeep rolled over due to the impact of the crash. One person at the scene was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Jeep was cited for failing to obey the traffic signal. An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
