Beach Park, IL (May 29, 2020) – One person was critically injured following a collision in Beach Park on Wednesday, May 27th. The crash took place at the intersection of Green Bay Road and Chaplin Street at around 10:20 p.m. Authorities responded to a call of a head-on crash with injuries.
Initial reports revealed that a 33-year-old Waukegan man was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima on Green Bay Road when the vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. A 27-year-old woman in the Chevy was ejected in the crash. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Illinois with life-threatening injuries. Two others were also injured in the collision.
Authorities believe that alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation into the accident is currently underway.
