Stop Sign Accidents in Illinois
Intersections are known to be dangerous and are a magnet for serious collisions. Attempts are made to make intersections safer, like installing stop signs and traffic signals, but these devices are ineffective when they are not followed. Nearly one-third of intersection crashes take place at stop sign-controlled intersections.
There are 700,000 stop sign accidents reported annually, accounting for 40 percent of fatal accidents. Reckless drivers that disregard traffic signs can be held liable for the crash and its resulting injuries. A skilled Illinois car crash attorney can help injured parties pursue lost compensation for their injuries.
