Effingham, IL – UPDATE: Philip Stein Injured on I-57 Collision

Effingham, IL (April 8, 2020) – Authorities have released the identity of the man who was injured following a rear-end collision in Effingham, Illinois on Monday, April 6th. Philip Stein, 37, from Effingham was driving a 2006 Beige Mercedes Benz on I-57 SB when his vehicle collided with the rear of a 2005 Maroon Freightliner Truck Tractor Semi-Trailer. The semi-truck was operated by Fikadu Tesefahuney, 32, from Alexandria, Virginia.

The tractor-trailer was reportedly slowing down due to traffic at the time of the accident. For unknown reasons, Stein collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer and suffered injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No further details are known at this time. An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
