Illinois Rollover Crashes

Rollover crashes have a higher fatality rate than other types of collisions. In 2010, 35 percent of deadly passenger-vehicle accidents involved rollovers. 7,600 people were killed in overturning vehicles that year.

69 percent of those killed in rollover crashes were unrestrained at the time of impact. Wearing a seatbelt can potentially protect you from life-threatening injuries. Unrestrained occupants are often thrown from the vehicle entirely in the event of a rollover.
