Clark Co, IL (March 18, 2020) – A man was charged after a crash in Clark County, Illinois left three people injured, with one in critical condition. The accident took place on Monday, March 17th, on IL-1 when the driver of a 2014 Toyota Corolla disobeyed an Illinois Department of Transportation worker’s stop sign and continued into a construction zone. The driver, identified as Jessie G. Cooper, 26, of Terra Haute, Illinois, was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to carry insurance, disobeying a flagger, and DUI.
Cooper collided head-on with a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Willie E. Sebastian, 65, also of Terre Haute. Cooper was transported to a nearby medical facility in critical condition. Cooper and his passenger, Linda Hope Jasmine Soulliere, 25, of Paris, Illinois, were hospitalized for treatment.
An investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
