Chicago, IL – Man on Scooter Seriously Injured on W Belmont Ave

Chicago, IL (March 9, 2020) – An accident on Sunday, March 8th, in the Lake View area on Chicago’s North Side left a man seriously injured. The accident occurred at the 2500 block of West Belmont Avenue at around 7:35 p.m. According to officials from the Chicago Police Department, the man was reportedly riding a scooter when he was sideswiped by an oncoming vehicle.

The 49-year-old man operating the scooter reportedly suffered critical injuries. He was transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment. No updates have been provided by CPD at this time.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is currently in progress.
