Riverdale, IL (February 3, 2020) – Early Monday morning, February 3rd, in Riverdale, Illinois a 29-year-old woman was killed and three others injured, including an Illinois State Police official. The accident took place on I-57 NB near 138th Street, right around 2:30 a.m. Initial sources reported that an unmarked patrol car was struck by a 2006 gray Nissan after its driver lost control of the vehicle.
Sindi Miller was driving the Nissan when she hit the 2011 white Ford patrol vehicle, causing both vehicles to collide with the guardrail. Miller was taken to a nearby facility where she was later pronounced dead. The 50-year-old ISP officer was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois for treatment following the crash.
Two of the three passengers in Miller’s Nissan were injured in the crash. An investigation into the accident is currently in progress.
