Morton, IL – Fatal Head-On Crash with Semi-Truck on I-74

Morton, IL (February 27, 2020) – A head-on crash near Morton, Illinois left one dead on Wednesday morning, February 26th. According to initial reports, the collision occurred on I-74 EB at around 8 a.m. Authorities reported that a van lost control due to icy roadway conditions, colliding with a semi-truck.

The Tazewell County Coroner pronounced the driver of the van dead a the scene. The identity of the injured party isn’t known at this time. Passengers in the semi-truck were transported to a nearby hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries.

The investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
