Minooka, IL (February 26, 2020) – A crash on Friday, February 21st, near Minooka, Illinois left nine people injured. The crash reportedly began when a male driver struck a tractor-trailer on I-80 at around 9 p.m. The driver who hit the semi got out of his car when he was hit by the second vehicle, causing a chain-reaction accident.
Multiple other vehicles were involved in the collision. According to the Illinois State Police, eight people were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The man who was initially struck while standing outside his vehicle was airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition.
Both lanes on I-80 were closed for four hours following the accident. ISP is currently conducting an investigation into the crash.
