Chicago, IL – 6 Officers Injured at Springfield Ave & Jackson Blvd

Chicago, IL (February 16, 2020) – Six Chicago police officers were injured in a collision on Saturday night, February 15th, in the West Garfield Park area on the city’s West Side. The accident occurred at the intersection of South Springfield Avenue and West Jackson Boulevard at around 7:30 p.m. According to initial reports, the accident involved a patrol vehicle and an unmarked Chicago Police Department vehicle. 

Four officers were in one vehicle and two in the other. Local sources reported that the vehicles were en route to assist another officer. All six were transported to Stroger Hospital, with one listed in critical condition.

No other details are known at this time. CPD is currently handling the investigation into the accident.
