Altamont, IL (February 18, 2020) – A driver and a young passenger were injured after being involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer in Altamont, Illinois on Monday, February 17th. The collision happened near mile marker 85 on I-70. Initial reports revealed that the accident involved a 2018 Infiniti SUV and a 2017 International tractor-trailer.

Police reports indicated that the SUV, driven by Ginorio Migdalia, 56, was traveling on I-70 WB when the tractor-trailer, driven by Derek A. Boxdorfer, 34, of Kampsville, Illinois merged into the right lane and collided with the vehicle. The SUV hit a guardrail due to the impact.

Both Migdalia and a female juvenile passenger were taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Hospital for treatment. An ongoing investigation into the crash is being handled by local authorities.

Our thoughts are with Ginorio Migdalia, the other injured victim, and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

On average, 34,276 people are injured annually in unsafe lane-change accidents. Victims can suffer from severe or life-threatening injuries. Injured parties should consult with a qualified Illinois car crash attorney to discuss possible avenues for compensation.
