New Salem, IL (December 6, 2019) – Two men from McDonough County were critically injured following an accident near New Salem, Illinois. The crash occurred at the corner of IL-41 and County Road 2100 on Friday afternoon, December 6th. The crash happened at around 12:06 p.m. when the vehicle the two men were traveling in left the roadway.
Initial reports revealed that the vehicle crossed the centerline and exited the road, causing the vehicle to overturn. Both occupants were ejected in the accident. The two injured parties were identified as Henry Kliffmiller-Fowler, 24, of Prairie City, Illinois and passenger Christopher Abbott, 24, from Bushnell, Illinois.
No charges have been issued at this time. Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
