Big rigs, semi-trucks, and 18-wheelers are a common sight on Illinois roadways. Many truck drivers are pushed to work long hours in order to meet deadlines and haul massive loads across the country. Unfortunately, exhaustion and tough work schedules are a common cause of serious semi-truck collisions.

Illinois experiences its fair share of severe semi-truck accidents. In 2014, more than 2,600 people lose their lives in semi-truck crashes. 549 of these deaths involved occupants of the commercial rig.
